The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed a 137th case of the coronavirus Friday, according to a press release issued by the department.
The latest case is a female health care worker who lives in the southwest quadrant of the county, according to the press release. The woman developed a cough, chills, body aches, headaches and a loss of smell. The woman, who was tested for COVID-19 on Wednesday, reported having direct contact with a known COVID-19 positive individual. Her COVID-19 positive result came back Thursday.
The department has begun thorough contact tracing on the woman.
There are five active COVID-19 cases in the county; 128 residents have recovered, and four have died.
