As part of the World Exhibition EXPO 2020 Dubai, a specialized business workshop “Full of wellbeing” on the topic of health tourism was held in the Croatian pavilion yesterday evening. This was a workshop organized by the Croatian Tourist Board, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and with the support of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of the week “Health & Wellness”. The gathered were greeted by the director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, the state secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina and the president of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Luka Burilović.
“Health tourism is a product that has a strong resource base and rich tradition in Croatia, and this specialized business workshop was a unique opportunity to further strengthen the demand for health tourism services. Namely, Croatian business entities presented their offer of health tourism, exchanged experiences and agreed on future cooperation with almost 50 partners from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Russia and India. In addition to new business cooperation and projects, we expect that our country’s participation in the EXPO in Dubai will have a positive impact on the entire Croatian economy,” said CNTB Director Kristjan Stanicic, adding that the supply of health tourism in global terms is growing.

The workshop was attended by about 15 of the most important Croatian representatives of health tourism providers, top experts in various fields of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and spa and wellness industry. Holders of international certificates, winners of prestigious awards and leading Croatian entities in the implementation of certain medical procedures presented their offer.

The offer of health tourism in Croatia today includes a complex set of providers of wellness, spa and medical tourism. Considering all the predispositions, but also the funds available, in the period ahead we want to further strengthen health tourism, brand stronger and position Croatia as a health destination,” said Secretary of State Tonči Glavina.
